Nissan provides lots of tips and information about the Leaf on its Quick Guide: https://www.nissanquickguide.com/#/guide/2019/leaf/top-picks.

The Chevrolet Bolt Manual can be found here: https://my.chevrolet.com/content/dam/gmownercenter/gmna/dynamic/manuals/2020/chevrolet/boltev/2020-chevrolet-bolt-owners-manual.pdf.

Fully charged, a 2019 Nissan Leaf has an estimated driving range of 99-150 miles. Chevrolet Bolts have a larger range of roughly 200-250 miles. The actual range will vary depending on:

  • Initial battery charge level
  • driving style
  • highway vs. city driving
  • climate control setting
  • weather

Please remember to check the readout on your dashboard for real time range.

The average range of the vehicle is 99-150 miles (Leaf) or 200-250 miles (Bolt) and there are several hundred Level 2 and Level 3 EV charging stations in the Boston metro region. Charging is free and included in your hourly rate. If for some reason the vehicle breaks down, you can call 888-610-0506 (press 1) and we will assist you in any way we can.

When you apply to become a member, we’ll set up an orientation to the program, and how to operate and charge the EVs. You’ll be an EV pro in no time! Should questions arise, we’re always just a phone call or email away.

We’re doing everything we can to keep you and your family safe. Our cars are stocked with PPE and deep cleaned regularly. Click here for more information on our COVID-19 policies.

MEMBERSHIP

Good2Go members will have their Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reviewed and must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license. Members must have no major accidents, no major moving violations, no DUIs, and not more than 2 minor traffic violations in the last 3 years.

Start the process by downloading our app and putting in your personal information, driver’s license, and payment information.

Once you have uploaded your information, you will be sent a link to our Motor Vehicle Check and Membership Agreement to complete.

Good2Go’s goal is to bring EVs to as many people as possible, and therefore carpooling is highly encouraged! Contact us for assistance locating carpool signup sheets. Any payments (e.g. sharing the cost of the reservation with the driver, or paying fully for the cost of the reservation) should be handled independently of Good2Go.

Log in to your Good2Go account on the smartphone app and click on the cancel membership tab, or call 617-718-5344. You will receive a confirmation email acknowledging that your membership has been cancelled. If you decide that you want to rejoin, you will need to reapply as a new member.

RATES AND PAYMENT

Insurance, vehicle maintenance, charging, tolls, and roadside assistance are all included in the member rates. We offer a Standard Rate, a Reduced Rate, and a Champion Rate for our members.

Taxes and any parking or driving tickets issued to you during your reservation will be passed on to you.

In Massachusetts, carshare reservations are subject to the following taxes:

  • 6.25% sales tax
  • $10 Convention Center Tax (issued once per year)
  • $2 surcharge for reservations 12 hours or longer

Good2Go is committed to equity and improving air quality by bringing EVs to communities. We believe that cost should never be a barrier to accessing zero emission transportation. To best ensure that our fleet is accessible to drivers of all incomes, we offer a discounted rate for those with certain household income levels and those who participate in economic assistance programs. With maintenance, insurance, roadside assistance and charging included in the hourly rate, Good2Go offers a cost-effective alternative to car ownership.

Click here for information on how to qualify. Email us or upload into the app proof of eligibility. Once we receive and verify your proof, you’ll be notified that you’ve been approved for the reduced rate.

If you do not have access to any of the above payment methods, contact us and we will work with you to offer an alternative solution to online payments.

RESERVATION

When you book a car, you will be given detailed information on the app about the location of the parking lot and where in the parking lot your car is located. When you get to the pickup location, look for a car with the Good2Go logo on it. If you see more than one Good2Go car, check the license plate and the car number to make sure you are at the right car. Remember, you can only unlock the car that you reserved from the app. Our cars are normally parked at a parking space next to a charging station with a Good2Go sign.

Unlock your reserved vehicle with the smartphone app by clicking “Begin Reservation.” During your trip, you can use the in-app “lock” and “unlock” buttons.

During a trip you may need to charge the vehicle at a public charging station along your route. A map of nearby charging stations is available in the in the car, along with a complimentary ChargePoint charging station card. This card can be used to charge the vehicle at any ChargePoint charging station at no cost to you during your reservation. We just ask that cars be returned with a minimum of 25% charge remaining. For help finding additional charging stations, visit www.plugshare.com. Members who habitually return their car with less than a 25% charge are subject to possible membership termination.

  • Fast charging stations sometimes called Level 3 or DC chargers will give you 80% charge in 40-60 minutes.
  • A Level 2 charger will take several hours to obtain the same charge.

There is no limit on how many miles you can drive, as long as you return your vehicle on time with at least a 25% charge remaining. Please plan your journey accordingly.

You are charged based on the length of your reservation.

Extend your reservation on the smartphone app or by calling 617-718-5344. As long the car hasn’t already been booked by another member, you will be able to keep the car longer.

If you are unable to extend your reservation, please call617-718-5344. A Member Services representative will work with you to accommodate your late return. If you are the member who is waiting for a car that’s being returned late, we will contact you as soon as we know your car might be late. Members who are habitually late are subject possible termination from the program. Late fees apply.

Return your car to the same parking lot where you picked it up (park your car in any available Good2Go parking space). Power down your EV, and use the complimentary ChargePoint card to plug in the vehicle to its home charging station and begin the charging session. This is a very important step and helps insure that your EV has a charged battery for the next member (members who habitually do not plug in their returned EV may be subject to termination from the program). Click “End Reservation” within the app and follow the prompts to submit. Once the Thank You page pops up, the car will lock and you’re all set!

Note: your account is billed for the beginning of your reservation until it’s successfully ended in the app.

This is rare, but if this happens please call us immediately at 617-718-5344 and we’ll help you find the closest open spot.

POLICIES

No. Only a Good2Go member with a valid reservation can drive a Good2Go car.

We do not provide child seats and encourage you to use your own child seats should you need any during your trip. All vehicles are child seat friendly.

All pets, with the exception of service animals, must be crated in order to be brought in a Good2Go car. If you do bring your service animal, you must provide certification of their service animal credentials ahead of your reservation.

If the vehicle you reserved is dirty when you pick it up please report it immediately using the app or by calling 617-718-5344. Please include the date and time of your booking along with a description of the mess and any supporting photos. Members who habitually leave their vehicle dirty on the inside are subject to fines and possible membership termination.

This is unusual, but it can happen. Call 617-718-5344 and we will help you locate the car or change your booking to a different nearby car. If none of the above is successful, we will reimburse you for up to $50 if you need to take an Uber or Lyft to your destination and back. Or, if you prefer, we will cancel your booking.

All tickets must be paid by the member. An additional fee will be assessed by Good2Go if a ticket goes unpaid past 15 days.

Call 911 just as you would for any car accident or fender bender. Make sure everyone involved is safe and being cared for. Then call a Member Services Representative at 617-718-5344. In all cases you must contact a Member Services Representative before continuing your trip (and in the majority of cases we will require you to wait and obtain a police report).

If you are in an accident, you are not found at fault, and we are able to collect damages from the other driver’s insurance company, you will not be held responsible for the cost of any repairs to our vehicle or the other driver’s vehicle or for injuries to any passengers in either vehicle. If you are found at fault or the other driver is uninsured, you may be responsible for the first $500 in repairs or medical bills.

Call 617-718-5344. A roadside assistance will be dispatched as quickly as possible. You must wait with the car until the tow truck arrives. Once the tow truck arrives, you will have the option of riding with the tow truck to the repair facility or taking an Uber or Lyft to your final destination.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email us at info@evgood2go.org or call us at 617-718-5344.
